The Mossos d’Esquadra have confirmed that the two lifeless bodies found by emergency services in the Aigüestortes National Park area are the two doctors who disappeared on September 26. According to local media Segre.com, the two hikers are Joan Boixadera and Lídia Bosch, both 27 years old and resident doctors at the Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona.
Since last Monday, the Firemen of the Generalitat, the Mossos d’Esquadra and the Civil Guard were looking for two missing doctors in the Aigüestortes National Park (Lleida) when they received a notice from the young people’s family after not hearing from them . As reported by Europa Press, the relatives were concerned when they did not hear from the hikers since they did not appear back home last Sunday.
This Thursday, the search device for the two hikers has located two lifeless bodies in the peripheral area of the park. The bodies have been found next to Lake Pòdo, in the municipality of Naut Aran (Lleida), as reported by the Fire Department of the Generalitat through a press release.
Missing since September 26
The Emergency Medical System has activated their helicopter with a doctor, based on Tremp, and has been able to confirm that they are dead. “Everything indicates that it would be the couple who disappeared last Monday in the National Park. Likewise, the SEM has also activated the psychological support unit to care for the family,” they detail in the statement.
The search, active since Monday, has been carried out on the section of the Carros de Foc crossing that goes from the Colomers refuge to the municipality of Espot (Lleida), where the youth vehicle has been located, and they participate in the Two helicopters, six ground crews, a canine unit, two firefighters support and troops from the Mossos and the Civil Guard were in operation.
